And latelymore than Id hope.Luckily, loving girlfriends remind me of what Id remind them. That this is all most definitely part of the process. That its elend all forward all the time. That its preparing me for whats actually next.Heres whats truefor all of us. Youll cry about things you thought you were done crying about. Youll get mad about situations you thought youd found closure around. Youll sink into doubt you thought youd left far behind. Youll question things you thought youd worked through already.Youll regress. You will.And wanna know what? That is perfectly f*cking OK.Because. Because not all step s are made equal. The steps back mightfeel hugebut theyre typically small in actuality. And theyre preparing for the step forward thats quite actuallya leap. Two small steps behind you. So youre armed with the lesson, the learning, themomentumto leap forward.I know thats not what it feels like when youre in the midst of feeling something you thought you werent ever going to feel again. But thats whats happening. Youre gathering up the skill toreallyget it. Toreallyunderstand where and whatforwardis.Forward is coming. A bright, positive, momentous step forward IS coming. But for now, youre going back to pick up the strengthto gather the awarenessto find the understandingthat you need in order to do that.So, theres really no such thing astwo steps back.
